Country Couples was launched across the UK from a house near Silloth last month, aimed at single people who are more at home with their wellies than Wi-Fi.
Two Cumbrians, a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, have now left the site after less than a week, after finding exactly what they were searching for.
Sally Bolton, who created the service, said she was delighted it had worked its magic so soon.
She said: “They live in the same town but haven't seen each other for a couple of years, hence not knowing they were both single again.
“Within a week of joining they asked to be removed, saying they are now seeing each other and very happy.
“I am so pleased to have achieved our first couple already”
Membership to Country Couples, currently free, is open to everyone in Britain and Northern Ireland.
Sally, 42, of Seaville, said: “It is aimed at country-minded folk and anyone in the UK over 18 can join.
“We’re very pleased to have a mixture of men and women. I’m delighted to be attracting almost twice the number of females than males. The online dating industry is generally quite the opposite.
“I put it down to providing a genuine and caring place where women feel safe. I remember reading about the men looking for love in Alston, where men greatly outnumber women, so maybe we can finally solve their problem for them.”
So far, 50 people have signed up for either friendship, dating or both, with ages ranging from 18 to 63.”
Country Couples is offering free full membership for the first three months, followed by £6.50 a month guaranteed for three years from the launch date.
