The Kaharoa man joined the Waikato branch of Adventure Date a year ago. Owner Liz Heart told him she had 300 people on her books; most were women and from rural backgrounds.
Mr Fleming went along to some Adventure Date events, but did not get a date. He said most of the attendees were men, and the women were too old for him. He says Ms Heart conned him.
There have been two women in Mr Fleming's life who he says he could have married, but they did not want children. And he doesn't consider himself fussy.
"I want someone who's not on drugs, someone with an active figure, ardent personality, who can shift stock - just someone to love."
He doesn't see age as a problem because there was 18 years between his mother and father. He describes himself as a "good Kiwi bloke" whose hobbies include hunting and tramping, but he also has a soft side and enjoys writing poems.
"I'm a good bastard, ask my mates. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I don't dance."
He lives alone on his farm and runs a part-time business called Kiwi Outback, taking tourists hunting, for bush walks and overnight stays on his property.
"All the tourists that come here wonder why I'm still single. I'm nothing but a gentleman."
Ms Heart said she had received numerous complaints about Mr Fleming since he started coming to Adventure Date events.
"People said he came on far too strong, asking if they wanted babies as soon as he met them and then treating them like dirt if they didn't or were past it. He was rude and obnoxious."
She admits there were mostly men or older women at the events Mr Fleming attended but he had only been to about three so had not given the agency much of a chance.
At one event Mr Fleming even grabbed a female assistant, who was not a member of the group, and kissed her on the lips against her will, Ms Heart said.
