The Romir Monitoring holding has conducted a survey on electronic payments systems. More than 1700 people old were surveyed (12 years old and over), who use the internet several times a week. The statistical accuracy of the survey is about ±2,5%. Surveyed was the Russian internet-audience which according to Runet’s research accounted for 21% of the country’s adult population.
The research showed that half of Russians surveyed never use systems of electronic payments. of the surveyed 61% are women and 46% men. Women surveyed are mainly over 45 years old (61%) with higher education (54%) and students (53%).
Quarter of the respondents said they make their payments through the internet (WebMoney). Those are mainly men (29%) with secondary-level education (30%), production and non-manual workers (36%). Yandex Money is the second most popular payment system (20%). Only 15% of women use this service, 11% are over 45 years old and 19% with higher education. The third most popular is the System of Distance Bank Operations (10%). 7% of women and 12% oà men use the system. These are mainly people between 35 and 44 years old (16%). 6% are people between 18 and 24. the system is quite popular among businessmen (15%).
Less than 4% of the respondents use such payments systems as E-Gold (4%), E-port (3%), Rapida (3%), Assist (2%), CyberPlat (2%), Payplat (2%), MoneyMail (1%), Rupay (1%), Moneybookers (1%), Internet Money (1%).
