Watch out single women, your grandmother might have a better chance of finding a man in her age group than you.

It's official _ there is a man drought in Rotorua.

The 2006 Statistics New Zealand Census figures showed the biggest gender gaps are in the 20 to 24 age group with 321 more women than men, the 35 to 39 age group with 378 more women and the 40 to 44 age group with 381 more women.

The fourth biggest gap is in the 85 and over group with 282 more females than males. But these pensioners still have more chance of finding a man in their age group than their younger counterparts.
