Catering to a tall order by its female clients, a speed-dating service has found that size does matter when it comes to men’s height.
So FastLife, along with its online dating partner Lavalife, will offer Calgary women the chance to find love with guys over six-feet-tall.
And they’ll do it — fittingly — on Valentine's Day, said FastLife founder Justin Parfitt.
“Without doubt, this event will be a hit with women,” Parfitt said.
“We’re always getting customer service e-mails from women who want to meet tall men, so we thought it was high time we responded to their demands, and we couldn’t give these ladies a much better Valentine’s gift.”
Calgary’s first such height-specific event will feature men taller than six feet and women of any stature, following successful nights hosted by FastLife in Toronto, Vancouver and Australia.
Tall men and women will hook up on a series of mini-dates during the evening, which is accepting registrants at www.fastlife.ca or by phone at 1-800 406 0832.
Officials of Canada’s top-ranked dating site, Lavalife, confirmed one of the most popular search criteria for women is height.
And a study conducted by Polish anthropologist Dr. Boguslaw Pawlowski reported taller men perform better in the mating game, said FastLife event manager Liv Judd.
“Women just love tall men because they are seen as more successful and more intelligent — there’s more tall men on the Fortune 500 list,” Judd said.
“And this way if a woman is 5-foot-5 — which is the average height of a Canadian woman — and she wants to put on a four-inch heel, she still has a guy she can look up to.”
