Have you ever wondered why many single American men are now choosing to seek out foreign brides? I'm sure that you have and I'm sure that there are many questions rattling around in your head about the reasons behind this trend.
It's simple really, the American women that men come into contact with today are to judgmental, they are to independent, they are to self absorbed and they immediately judge a man by his outward appearance without getting to know the real person inside. In our society we have allowed ourselves to be far removed from things such as humility, shame, family unity, respect etc.
Let me further explain, in todays American society there is little or no shame in walking away from your marriage, there is little or no humility if you succumb to sexual desires before or during marriage, there is no fear of destroying the unity of your family and loosing the respect of your family and community.
It is a normal occurrence in our society for women to seek out sex long before marriage. I cant count the times that i have heard women comment that they would never marry without sleeping with the man first. The only problem with this kind of thinking is the fact that one lover will lead to another and then another and another and so on until she finally finds the man of her dreams and gets married only to discover twelve or eighteen months down the road that she isn't satisfied.
Now that she has discovered she isn't satisfied she begins the search, the search for a new lover, a better lover, a new prince charming.
Before you know it she has packed up and moved out, leaving her husband and possibly her children and even if she hasn't left the children she has ruined their lives. Most likely she will continue this behavior, over the years going from man to man until she is a bitter hateful woman living alone or tied down to someone she doesn't love. This kind of behavior is tolerated in our society and in a lot of case's encouraged by other women who themselves are unhappy with their bitter pitiful little lives.
Now lets take a look at the foreign bride. She will most likely come from a third world country, not always but some times from a poor family. She is innocent by our standards. Society in her world may be fifty years behind in technology but her family are good god fearing people. They may not have a nice Fancy home, they may just scrape by from day to day but they do everything in their power to instill a sense of dignity in their children, they do everything in their power to teach their children about god, they do everything they can to teach their children about shame and humility, they do everything they can to teach their children about the importance of family and the sacredness of marriage, they do everything they can to teach their children to have respect for their family,their husbands and themselves.
Along comes a man, an American man. He meets a young lady in a foreign land, she is very shy and is unlike any other women he has ever met. In his eyes she is the most beautiful lady he has ever seen. His usual advances to courtship have no effect on her. She never lets herself be alone, finally after weeks and weeks of failed attempts he discovers that she must be courted in the traditional way.
He must first ask permission of the father to begin courtship. If she shows no interest in him or the parents disapprove he has wasted a lot of time and effort.
He has finally spoken with the father and after much discussion, permission is given and the courtship begins. He is ready for their first date, thoughts of being alone with her are running through his mind, he can hardly contain his excitement. He arrives at the home only to discover that the only way he is going to be alone is if he goes back to his hotel and locks himself in the bathroom.
There must be twenty five people at her home waiting for your arrival, all of them smiling and grinning at you like they are starving to death and you are a giant barbecued pig. Well much to your discomfort the date begins and you are poked , prodded and inspected while everyone stands around pointing and talking in a language that would take what seems like a million years for you to learn. The date finally ends and you are sent back to your hotel to wonder what in the world just happened. The next day rolls around and you think to yourself, I've met the family and everything seemed to go well, now we can have the second date and be alone to get to know each other better. You arrive at her home and the two of you agree on an outing, you inform the parents of your intended locations and begin to leave only to discover that you are being followed by two or three other ladies, after much discussion with your date you find out to your horror that these are the chaperone's and will be following closely behind everywhere you go.
Now, you have had several dates with the lady of your dreams and her three chaperone's and have discovered that you have fallen in love. She has excepted you for who you truly are, she doesn't see your faults, she doesn't care that you are not a rich man, she doesn't care that you may be short and fat or tall and skinny, she doesn't care if you are twenty years old or forty years old, she has also fallen in love with you, she has fallen in love with the person inside.
Your both in love, you want to get married, now you just have to go to her parents and ask for her hand, easy enough right ? Wrong, you go to the father and ask for his daughters hand in marriage, there is lots of excited chatter of which you have no idea what is being said. Suddenly you are ask to leave, to return to your hotel or boarding house or where ever it is that you are staying and await an answer. The day drags by and you wait, darkness comes and you wait, through out the night you lay awake in your bed and wait, morning comes and you wait, finally by mid day your intended and her chaperon arrive to give you the answer. It would seem that the parents never dreamed that things would go this far so a family meeting was called and arguments for and against the marriage went on all through the night.
In the end the intended bride sways everyone to her side and although the parents are still not happy about the decision you have permission to marry your dream girl.
The date for the wedding has been set, you are running all over a strange country trying to get all the necessary paper work together and some time during all this you have come to realize that you are occasionally finding yourself alone with your fiance. Being the American male you are, you see your opportunity to try and sample the goods before the marriage. Try as you might you can not convince your soon to be bride to fool around, even though you will be married in a matter of a few short days. The wedding day finally rolls around and you are married, you return to her home for a big wedding party that last well into the evening.
The party is over and the honeymoon begins, you discover to your delight that true to her word the new bride is a virgin, You spend the next couple of weeks with your new bride and then it comes time to go back home. She cant come with you because she has to wait out the visa process so when you arrive at the airport there is a lot of tear jerking and snot slinging going on.
You return as often as possible to visit and you keep in touch daily until finally she is approved for her visa. You meet her at the airport and the tears and snot start flowing all over again but this time it is happiness. You take her to her new home and as you lay awake watching her sleep you realize that through it all you have learned a great deal. you have discovered that you also love her for who she is inside, you discover that there is nothing wrong or embarrassing about shame and humility, there's allot to be said for the old ways, and you to have learned to respect your spouse, your family and yourself. You realize that these are the very things you have spent an eternity searching for but were unable to find in an American woman. The very things that our society has pushed us all away from are the things that make us strong as a family and as husband and wife.
