It is often seen that first dates are the toughest of all situations. Often, they end up awkwardly and are very painful. So, what can be done? Here is a list of few of dating tips that can be of help to you and hopefully your date will start on the right note.
* Planning a date in each other's houses is not a good idea. If possible, try to drive your car yourself. This is so because if you want to end the date early, you won't be trapped. This also helps to avoid the impulse to invite your date in. Also, if you have your own car, then you don't have to worry about your and your partner’s safety. Your date won't know where you live and this avoids a date turning into some bad stalking nightmare.
* Try to keep the date as simple as possible. First dates can be very nerve wrecking. Jittery nerves and complicated plans do not mix. Just make it easy and enjoy every moment.
* Most men try to end their date first and that to politely. Make sure that you show you are interested. This will make you stand out.
* If you are women, then don't wear anything provocative or too sexy. Your date won't know anything about you except for how you look and how you behave. He will judge you by your face value and you will like the idea of sending a wrong message to your partner about your personality.
* Wear clothes that make you feel confident and you are comfortable wearing. It will be uncomfortable to keep worrying about the tightness around your waist or the itchy necktie.
* Men should be specific about where they are going for the date. This will make the entire affair more comfortable and it prepares you for the date what you had expected it to be like. Wearing a cocktail dress to a fast food joint is not so a brilliant idea.
* Ask your date about him/her. An interest in getting to know your date is a good sign to show. This means that you curious and want to learn about your date. Remember, the most interesting conversationalists are those who ask about others. Great topics are work, hobbies and sports. Just keep it light and make the conversation and interesting one.
* Try not to overuse the perfume or the cologne. Strong perfumes and scent can be quite distracting. It's very hard to complete an evening out if your date is dazed by the smell.
* Mouthwash is important. Also, brush your teeth and bring a couple of mints if you're eating out.
* And always remember... have fun and be yourself.
