How to know the ‘wrong’ man

Date: 2006-12-13

In a dating scene you are bound to come across several men. How can you tell who are the ones to avoid? Here are some indicators that might be helpful.

The Muscle Guy
These kinds of guys are super easy to pick out at the dating sites: he’s the one with more pictures of his muscles than his face on his dating site profile. It’s almost creepy; you know what his biceps look like, but try and figure out what color his eyes are. This is the kind of guy that has little time or focus for much more than working out, buying more workout equipment, or ogling himself in the mirror. It can be a bit much for any woman perusing the dating sites. But why should you avoid this type of man? First of all, physicality will be of the utmost importance here. If you aren’t perfect, you are sure to hear about it. And secondly, you’ll really only be another trophy on his arm, talked about and compared like his waistline. Fortunately, he’s a pretty easy one to get rid of if you’ve already met. Just ask him to give up training for you soon after you meet him on a dating site.

Momma’s Baby!
These guys are also Not very difficult to spot, although not as easy on the dating sites. Mom is spoken of frequently – to the point of it being disturbing. It’s one thing to make sure Mom is okay while recovering from hip surgery, but it’s another when he’s visiting her every single night for an hour or two. When you make it over to his house after meeting him on a dating site, you’ll see pictures of her, meals she’s made in his fridge, and notes from Mom scattered about. She may even call while you’re there. Stay as far away as you can from this kind of online dating site guy. You’ll never live up to Mom, no matter how hard you try. And if there is a fight between the two of you, you’d better believe Mom will hear about it – and she’ll never take your side. This is also an easy situation to be rid of: just tell your beau that Mom isn’t your cup of tea.

The Womanizer
This guy can be really, really hard to spot, and almost impossible to know he is one on a dating site. You’ll just have to meet this type of guy from a dating site and figure it out after a couple of dates that’s he’s a player. Perhaps he forgets your name, or just seems a bit too suave. He’s definitely a sweet talker, and will be spending a lot of time trying to sell himself to you, whether it’s online at a dating site, or live and in person. You may almost feel like he’s a used car salesman, but instead of a car, he’s trying to sell his sexuality. He’ll flirt mercilessly while on dates (with you and all pretty gals he encounters), and may even run into one or two gals that he quickly shoos away – probably because he’s met them through a dating site, too. It’s obvious why this kind of man is a bad choice for women looking at the online dating sites for a mate. This guy just isn’t ready to settle down, and it’ll progressively get harder and harder to pin him down for a date, much less meeting your friends. Easily enough, just don’t call this guy back, and you’ll probably get lost in the shuffle.
Of course these are mere indicators and not always correct. But you can make the right choice by avoiding men like these.
