From east Europe to Israel, sex-slavery has reached epidemic proportions. Sex-slavery, child-trafficking, and organ-trafficking have grown into multi-billion dollar industries, and the poor of the world are the preys. Far worse than the fabricated "international terror", are the threats of HIV and the trafficking of women, children, drugs and weapons which directly affect our societies, our future generations, and our safety and security. Caught in this evil web, besides east European women are also hapless women and children from many African and Asian countries, including India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Award-winning Canadian journalist Malarek reports that at least 800,000-900,000 impoverished young women, many of them orphans, from Eastern and Central Europe, are lured with promises of jobs as waitresses, nannies or maids in Israel, Western Europe or North America. Instead, they find themselves imprisoned in apartments, massage parlours or brothels in countries ranging from South Korea, Bosnia and Japan to Israel and Germany.
With "ruthless efficiency," in the words of one European official, Russian, Israeli and other organized crime syndicates control this human trade, which offers high profits with little risk of interference thanks to "complacency, complicity, and corruption" on the part of national governments and law enforcement.
In a new trend, traffickers have reportedly begun exploiting an Israeli law that allows all Jews to immigrate to Israel by providing victims with false Jewish identity documents.
One of the more horrific examples Malarek offers involves sex slaves in Bosnia who serviced NATO and UN peacekeepers after the war in 1995. Malarek recounts the affecting first-person stories of numerous victims.
On the black market, sex-slaves are the third most profitable commodity, after illegal weapons and drugs - the only difference being that these goods are human, though to their handlers they are wholly expendable. They are women and girls, some as young as 12, from all over the Eastern bloc.
Israel's 'Task Force on Human Trafficking' states :" Rates of human trafficking in Israel are alarmingly high though the exact extent is not known. Nearly all of the trafficking victims in Israel come from the former Soviet Union .Once in Israel , victims are often sold and resold to pimps and brothel owners who force them to work in slave-like conditions. At every stage in the process, the victims are abused and exploited, often suffering severe beatings, rape and even starvation." Demand for prostitution in Israel is enormous, with an estimated one million visits to sex brothels every month. Human rights organizations estimate that 3,000 women are brought into the country as sex slaves every year. In Israel, the sex-slaves are called Natashas, whether they're actually from Russia, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, or Ukraine, no matter what their real names may be. They're lured into vans and onto airplanes with promises of jobs as waitresses, models, nannies, dishwashers, maids, and dancers. But when they arrive at their destinations, their identification papers are taken away, and their nightmare begins. They are stripped and sold naked as slaves to Tel Aviv traders into prostitution and kept enslaved; those who resist are beaten, raped, and sometimes killed as examples.
They often have nowhere to turn; in many cases, the men who should be rescuing them, such as immigration officials and police officers and international peacekeepers,are among their clients and work in cohorts with the pimps. When a young woman is sold to a shylock, she is forced to work off debts through involuntary sexual servitude. When she is sold again to another brothel, she has new debts to pay to the new owner - thus the vicious cycle of servitude continues.
The women have no choice - even if the customer is HIV positive, they cannot refuse to have sex with him. Their fate is sealed.
If a woman gets ill or pregnant, she is taken to a veterinarian or a back-alley abortionist. In one notorious case, two women were tied up in a cage on Tel Aviv's Rehov Pin and forced to provide sexual services. It is a multi-billion dollar industry in Israel - according to Fox news, each prostitute can earn for the pimps more than $200,000 annually. One blogger wrote: "Israel was once the holy-land; now it is the whore-land".
It is unimaginable that living humans would be trafficked for their organs to be sold to rich individuals. without the victims' consent. Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Romanian authorities were investigating possible links between Israeli adoption agencies and an illegal global conspiracy to sell organs for transplants. The Romanian officials were trying to ascertain if orphans arrived in Israel had all their organs in their bodies. Ha'aretz reported in the past, some Israeli physicians were involved in illegal kidney transplants and the sale of human eggs. Israeli doctors at the forensic institute extracted vital organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver from the bodies of Palestinian youths and children killed by the Israeli Army in Gaza and the West Bank.
In Holland, which is one of the capitals of prostitution, there are nearly 10,000 'sex-salves from India alone. In France and Holland they are known as "Gandhi-prostitutes".
Where are the feminists and pro-women activists? They rise up in arms against Muslim women wearing hijab and clothing of modesty, claiming these are the symbols of women's oppression, but they are keeping an eerie silence in the face of horrendous crimes against the bodies and souls of the hapless sex-slaves. The following documentary was shown on Israeli television news programs "Uvdah" ... all " and "Mabat Sheni" in February 2006. The sordid story of the east European sex-slaves shown in this film is quite heart wrenching. The caption says "Investigative report reveals the scope and evil of modern slavery in Israel today..." To some of my readers, this may come as a surprise - that such evil exists in the "holy-land", but that is because the mainstream media presents news stories about Israel with sugar coating, no matter what crimes and evil acts Israel commits. Is the silence of feminists towards sex-slavery in Israel due to the fear of being tarred as 'anti-Semites'?
Haaretz and authors of the documentary are Jewish, so, they cannot be anti-Semitic. Over the head of anyone who dares to criticize Israel hangs the sledge-hammer of 'anti-Semite' label. This threat ensures silence of the critics. The western world treats Israel as the Holy-Cow, and turns a blind eye to its crimes and evils. This 'Israel can do no wrong' myth has created havoc and blood bath in the middle east.
But peace-loving and righteous people must ignore the threat of 'anti-Semite' label and stand up for justice and truth.
Now there is news that 40,000 young women will be imported into Germany as sex-slaves to serve the World Cup games patrons.
