What's going on in the dating world, those of you who can't get one are possibly wondering.
Here's the latest, based on a survey of 3,571 singles by It's Just Lunch, which is just a dating service. The survey was commissioned in celebration of National Singles Week, which is half over.
So, you're probably wondering, what's the nation's most fun city for singles? Is it Raleigh?
No, it's New York City, chosen by 38 percent of those surveyed. Runner-up: Las Vegas, selected by 23 percent.
If you're a gal with a big salary that intimidates potential mates, head to Charlotte: 93 percent of single guys there say they would be more than happy to date a woman who makes lots of money. In Detroit, only 29 percent of males are cool with that.
Nearly a third of those surveyed think today -- that is, Thursday -- is the best night of the week for a first date.
How many are satisfied with their love life? 56 percent.
Of men:
* 67 percent have $100 or more in their wallet on a first date.
* 44 percent take a half-hour or less to prep for a date.
* 57 percent wouldn't touch a friend's ex, no matter how long it's been since they split.
Of women:
* 62 percent have $50 or less on them for a first date.
* 65 percent take an hour or longer to prep for a first date.
* 29 percent would approach a man in the grocery store if they thought he was attractive.
