survey conducted by Australia¡¦s first SMS speed dating service, 19date, has revealed 58% of people would use SMS to ask someone out on a first date.
Of the 500 young Australians surveyed, many indicated that using SMS allowed them to be more forward when communicating and less concerned with rejection due to the degree of anonymity it created.
Danny Brooks, of Mooloolaba, agreed, saying he had not been rejected face-to-face yet and did not want to be.
Matthew Raynham, of Caboolture, had no problem asking out Claire Tweedale when, while away, he realised how much he missed her.
