Gregerson sites spun Web of lies

Date: 2006-07-29

Craig Roger Gregerson, who is accused of killing Destiny Norton, spun a web of lies on the Internet posting profiles on at least two online dating sites, characterizing himself as an orphaned single man who doesn't want children and has a lot to say.
However, in reality, his parents live in Orem, he is married, he has a 1-year-old daughter and he is said to have been very quiet around his neighbors in Salt Lake City.
On both singlesaints.com and LDSplanet, Gregerson's profiles make statements that differ from the now-public knowledge of the man charged with kidnapping, murdering and then raping 5-year-old Destiny Norton.
"I have a lot to say so just let me know if you want to have me pour some information about me into your mind and I will be more than happy to do so," as stated on his LDSplanet profile. He claims to be strongly devoted to LDS Church teachings but cited "personal reasons" for not going on an LDS mission.

The profile goes on to state, "I do almost everything that's fun . . . not too general I know but I am a crazy guy, and in my younger days I have pretty much done everything known to man. . . . .and I enjoyed it all so if you ask me if I like something the chances are it will be yes. And no . . . .I haven't done drugs and yes I am still a virgin so don't freak out when I say personal reasons. . . . it's more spiritual than anything else."
On LDSplanet, Gregerson also notes he has a dog that "loves only women, but not other guys . . . .but is very gentle and loves kids."
Some of Gregerson's neighbors have speculated he may have used the dog as a ruse to lure Destiny into his apartment.
A myspace account he opened in December 2005 but never completely filled out or returned to says "I don't want kids." At the time, his own daughter was about 5 months old.
Gregerson, who goes by the moniker "packerman365" noted that his family had a "huge fight" when his "parents died a few years ago" and that he and his sister are the only ones of seven children who still talk. "Everyone else disappeared and haven't been heard from since the funeral," according to his singlesaints.com profile.
A somewhat serious relationship, also referred to on Gregerson's wife's myspace page, developed with a Seattle woman he met on LDSplanet. In a July 8 blog, she wrote on myspace: "Sadness . . . the man I love is in love with yet another women," Catherine Gregerson wrote. "My heart sits here in Broken Pieaces and shattered on the ground. I love him so much and would Do anything for him yet hes in love with another."
She mentions a "deal" she and Gregerson, who also met online, made in which she would "start behaving" if he would treat her with respect. "I have yet to see this happened," she wrote.
On July 15, the day before Destiny was reported missing, Catherine wrote that Craig's Internet relationship was over, that the woman had "dropped him." Later posts indicate her thoughts on separating from Craig and not putting up "with anymore people PUSHING ME around!!! Its going to STOP!!!"
Like the Gregerson family Web site, which reached its traffic capacity, Catherine Gregerson's myspace page has recently been closed to public viewing. On Thursday, she changed her myspace page to state her current place of residence, "as of now HELL, UTAH."
