Russians under 30 don`t hurry to register their marriages officially, every tenth marriage is not registered.
"The share of married people under the age of 30 is significantly less than 10 years ago", reported the Head of Demography and People-s ecology Centre attached to National Economic Forecasts Institution of Russian Academy of Science Anatoly Vishnevsky.
In particular, noted he, according to the census of 2002, there were 74% of men and 53 % women, who have never been married among people of 20-24. To compare with, according to the census of 1989 the share of unmarried men of this age constituted 60 %, and unmarried women 38%. In the age group of 25-29 the same figure for men is 35 % (24% in 1989), for women is 22% (14% in 1989).
Besides, added the demographer, the average age of the getting married significantly grew up: two years for fiances and a year and a half for brides.
"Today an average fiancé is 25,5 and an average bride is 23,1", noted Vishnevsky. He also mentioned, that Russians under 30 don`t hurry to register their relationship officially, every tenth marriage is not registered in the country.
"Every second-third marriage at the age under 20, and every fifth marriage at the age of 20-24 are de facto marriages not registered officially. Among the 25-29 year olds 14% women and 16% men said they didn-t register their marriages", noted the demographer.
