Passengers of Boeing and Airbusplanes nowhave an access to the Internet flying over the territory of Russia. On May 4, Rossvyaznadzor gave permission to Connexion by Boeing Eastern Europe, the affiliate company of Boeing, to operate the central earth station of the mobile satellite connexion by Boeing. Foreign airlines started to provide Internet services aboard with the help of this system in 2004. Today Connexion systems by Boeing cover the whole territory of the Earth, excluding the North and South Poles.

Connexion by Boeing installs and operates the system of access to the Internet on planes. Russian airlines have showed interest in this service, but no agreement has been signed so far. Now access to the Internet is possible only on planes of 11 foreign airlines.
