Starting from March 26, 2006, ÎÀÎ “Aeroflot-Russian Airlines” transfers to summer schedule, which will function until October 28 of the current year. Aeroflot introduces a number of new destinations, increases flying intensity, promotes cooperation with foreign partners. Frequency of flights to CIS-countries will grow by 30%, frequency of flights to South-East Asia will be increased by 28%; Aeroflot will carry out 20% more flights to America, 15 % more flights to Africa and Middle East countries, frequency of flights to the cities of Russia and Europe will go up by 14% and 9% respectively. Frequency of regular cargo carriages will climb by 21% on average.
It is planned to make regular flights to 87 cities of 47 world countries, including 36 destinations in Europe, 5 destinations in the USA, Canada and Cuba, 2 destinations in Africa, 4 destinations in the Middle East, 10 destinations in Asia, 8 destinations in the CIS-countries and 24 destinations in Russia. New international flights will be introduced to Karlovy Vary and Bratislava.
Flights to 31 foreign destinations will be carried out as joint operation flights in accordance with code sharing agreements with 24 foreign airlines – “Aeroflot” partners. The flights to a number of foreign and domestic destinations will be carried out on the planes of the subsidiary airlines – “Aeroflot –Don” and “Aeroflot-Nord”. Moscow-Khabarovsk-Moscow route will be operated in accordance with the joint flight agreement with airline “Dalavia”.
Summer schedule flights will be provided by 75 “Aeroflot” aircrafts with an adequate reserve.
Aeroflot entry in the international alliance “SkyTeam” in 2006 will allow passengers to use its worldwide destination network and convenient connections of its airlines-partners already beginning from the summer season. According to the reputable “Global Traveler” readers’ survey “SkyTeam” was recognized “The Best Airline Alliance” in 2005.
OJSC “Aeroflot-Russian Airlines” (RTS: AFTL) is the largest Russian airline with 51% state share. It was established in 1923. It controls about 11 per cent of domestic and 39 per cent of international air carriages’ market in Russia. Aeroflot’s net income is estimated to reach RUR 3.05 billion (approx. USD108m) in 2005. It is included in the list of the 25 leading world airlines based on the financial performance (according to ATW). In 2005 Aeroflot carried 6.707m passengers.
