The list of visa-free countries for Russians to be lengthened with Thailand

You are considering where to meet with your Russian lady and want to avoid visa problems and make this trip unforgettable for both of you? You may go to Thailand, ‘cause Russians don’t need a visa to this country any longer.

Starting from February 17 Russian tourists won’t have to fill in special questionnaires and receive visas at the Thailand border. Now they will enter Thailand absolutely free of charge. The agreement about two-side visa-free trips was signed in the middle of December but has been put into action only now. However, “Banko” information service in the Embassy of Thailand didn’t confirm this information and said that it was just hearsay “not supported by real facts so far”. However, many tourists confirm that the procedure of entry has been simplified.

In Thailand the agreement came into force just after it had been signed. The Russian party hasn’t ratified the agreement yet and the Thailand citizens still have to receive a visa.

According to the new agreement, Russian citizens can stay in Thailand up to 30 days. Before that they had to get a visa that cost 25 dollars and was valid for two weeks.
