Heathrow Airport increases security measures

New security measures have been introduced at Heathrow Airportfollowing a recent review of the procedures in the airport. The British Airports Authority (BAA) is recommending all the passengers traveling through Heathrow take as minimum baggage through security as possible and arrive at least three hours before departure for international flights, two hours for European flights and an hour for UK and Ireland flights.

Heathrow has warned passengers of delays that may be caused by the extra security measures and asks them to be patient as the measures are in place for their safety. Heathrow also recommends passengers to remove any sharp objects from their luggage, empty their pockets, take off their overcoats, remove belts and remove their laptop computers from their bags (as they will be screened separately) before going through detectors to speed up the process.
