Russia may introduce the visa-free procedures with the European Union even tomorrow and hopes to arrive at some admissible solution with Europe, Russia’s president made clear. ”We are ready to introduce [the visa-free procedures] even tomorrow, but our partners in Europe aren’t ready for it,” Russia’s President Vladimir Putin told the reporters Wednesday.

But Russia and Europe “are moving in the right direction,” Putin pointed out. “If we proceed to cooperate in this way, it will lead to the visa-free procedures.”

In its Strasbourg session of February 15, the European Parliament sanctioned softening visa procedures and readmission agreements.

The agreements ease visa procedures for official delegations, entrepreneurs, reporters, researchers, figures of culture and education and for the schoolchildren and students going abroad for studies or training.
